How to Make Bath Time Enjoyable for Your Little One

Bath time might not be enjoyable for your baby. There are those who are excited with the idea of playing in water while others hate it. You must train your baby to love bathing at an early age so it won’t be a problem later on. Here are some tips you need to take into consideration if you are bathing your baby.

1. Never leave your kid unsupervised.

This is very important. It doesn’t matter whether you are bathing a baby or a toddler. The kid must not be left unsupervised. Injuries could happen if they are left on their own. They also don’t know how to deal with water. They might even drown. Avoid doing other tasks when it is bath time.

2. Let the water stop running first.

Don’t place your child on a tub when the water is still running. Wait for it to be filled with water. You should also check the temperature of the water so you will know if it is too hot for your child or not. Make sure you don’t fill the entire tub as children could drown even in just an inch of water.

3. Make the bathing area safe.

Bathtubs can be really slippery. Use rubber bath mat to avoid slipping. You can also use a cushion spout cover to protect the head of your child. Showers with sliding glass doors should also be checked again just in case they break. Some glass doors can be fragile.

4. Use the right shampoo.

You must understand first the needs of your child before using any chemical. There is a no-tear formula for shampoo, which is perfect for babies. You should also check the chemical component of the soap or shampoo before using. They might cause allergies. In the event that your child has suffered from allergies, you must immediately stop using the said shampoo or soap.

5. Keep the faucet handles away.

Children might be very playful. They might touch the faucet handles and open the water that could drown them. Make sure it is beyond their reach. If not, cover the handles so they won’t be able to operate on their own.

6. Use bath toys.

There are kids who just hate bathing. They would keep on crying uncontrollably the moment they realize you are going to soak them in water again. This is why you need to buy the best bath toys for 1 year old. This could be a life saver. When they have toys to play with, they won’t even realise you are bathing them. Soon, they will become even more excited with the idea of bathing. You won’t have a hard time after a few tries.

Bathing your child is your bonding moment. It must be something fun and exciting for both of you. This is an experience that you will never forget for the rest of your life. You should ensure safety throughout the process. You should also stop everything else that you are doing just to safely bathe your child each day.
